Some American casinos offer a “basket” bet which is a type of line bet that pays 6 to 1. The payout for this bet is worse than any other type of roulette bet, but it can still be a good way to make money in a pinch. There are also special bets that allow you to double your bet or get paid even if the ball lands on zero. These include “en prison” and “la partage.” To place a bet on any of the three sections of the board, place a chip on the area containing the desired number. A player can place a bet of up to 40 chips on each section of the board. The winning bet is still the player’s property, and it can be re-wagered as long as the bet remains on the table. A winning bet can also be divided into multiple smaller bets if the player chooses. Betting on outside bets is much cheaper than betting on inside bets.
